416z surround question

My vintage 416z surrounds are so thin they show light through them. Is that normal? Do I need some goop to seal them up again?

Hi Les

Translucense is a normal characteristic. The only reason to redope would be if the cloth mesh were actually open in places, allowing air to pass through.
